Inaugurated by Cardinal Severino Poletto on 11 December 2008, the Diocesan Museum of Turin is located in the Lower Church of the Renaissance Cathedral.

The main objective of this museum is visually documenting the best that the Church of Turin has created over twenty centuries of history in the service of faith and charity through art.

The activity of the Diocesan Museum in Turin includes the study, restoration and cataloguing of the artworks, the development of educational activities and implementation of appropriate enhancement and promotion of its artistic heritage through exhibitions, publications and conferences.

The location
in the city center and the particular type of artworks displayed provide a very important role in the cultural life of Turin, in dialogue with all the major art collections and museums in the city.
